Jordan Public Schools Activities Director
Jordan Public Schools (JPS) is pleased to announce Joe Perkl as the new District Activities Director.
Joe has been serving as Assistant Activities Director at Hopkins Public Schools and will join Jordan Public Schools beginning Monday, August 14, 2017 with extensive experience as an activities administrator and a Dean of Students.
Joe was born and raised in Minnetonka, Minnesota. He attended Hopkins High School as a three sport athlete playing football, basketball, and baseball. He went on to receive his Bachelor of Science Degree in Teaching from St. Cloud State University. Joe also has a graduate certificate in Special Education. He is a Certified Athletic Administrator with the MNIAAA.
Joe is excited to bring innovative ideas to the position of Jordan Activities Director. As a founding member of the MNIAAA Technology Committee, he hopes to promote Jordan Activities not only locally, but statewide.
Joe began his career as a Special Education Geography Teacher at Hopkins High School. Soon, Joe was offered the Dean of Students position and not long after moved into the Assistant Activities Director position where he has served for the last seven years. Outside of school, Joe is married to wife Kim and they have a two year old son.
“Joe brings a great deal of knowledge regarding MSHSL rules, technological skills, an excellent demeanor, strong relationship building characteristics, the ability to positively connect with kids, and tremendous organizational and process oriented skills. He will work well with our student athletes, participants, coaches, advisors, and community,” added Matt Helgerson, Superintendent of Jordan Public Schools.
