When an item owned by the District is deemed unusable or is no longer needed, a formal surplus process is followed:
- The item is brought to the attention of district administration and added to a list of items to surplus.
- The surplus list is presented to the school board for approval.
- Items that are still in usable condition are listed on auction sites. Items that are no longer usable or repairable or have been deemed unsafe for reuse are decommissioned.
