JHS Girls Basketball Coach Kyle Johnson and Assistant Coach Ella Mahto named section 5AA Coach and Assistant Coach of the Year.

Jordan High School (JHS) is thrilled to announce Girls Varsity Basketball Coach Kyle Johnson and Assistant Coach Ella Mahto have been named section 5AA Coach and Assistant Coach of the Year. 

“We are so fortunate to have both Coach Johnson and Coach Mahto leading the Jaguar basketball program, hopefully for years to come. Their dedication to their craft and care for their players are constantly apparent. Each of them is highly deserving of this honor,” said John Buteyn, Activities Director at Jordan Public Schools.

Coach Johnson just completed his second year coaching with the JHS girls basketball program. His career coaching record is 108-128. Prior to coaching with Jordan, he was the boys basketball head coach at Big Lake High School for five years and Tri-City United High School for two years. Since coming to Jordan, he has led the Jaguars to a 44-12 record. 

Assistant Coach Mahto is in her first season with the JHS girls basketball program. She is a 2020 JHS grad and played basketball during her time at JHS. Prior to joining the Jaguar basketball program as an assistant coach, she played collegiately at Bethel University and coached at Concordia Academy.
