Mr. Beckman
Social Studies Teacher
I enjoy working in education because it is an extraordinary opportunity to connect academic content to the lives and experiences of each student. All students bring in unique perspectives. Taking those perspectives, bouncing them off of other students, and working together to achieve high levels of learning is what I value most about teaching high school social studies.

Social Studies Teacher
I chose education because I wanted a career that allowed me to do meaningful work, challenge myself, and build relationships with people (I also really love history). I love teaching in Jordan because it's a small school setting and I get to know nearly every single student that graduates from the high school. I get to teach subjects that I love and am given the freedom and autonomy to experiment and try new things. Finally, the staff and students here at JHS are simply awesome to work with.

I enjoy being around young people. It is a great privilege to have the opportunity to impact their lives in a meaningful way, and I couldn't imagine working in any other profession. I love how history shows us who we are and how it reveals the path to our present-day society, and I also love how life lessons can be taught on the basketball court as an extension of the classroom. I am truly fortunate to be a teacher and coach in the Jordan School District!
