  • Supporting your student through distance learning

    Hello JHS families. As we move into our distance learning format we wanted to share a video created by MSU Counseling Intern Danielle Joyal. Some tips in the video include creating routines, managing google classroom and emails, and daily check ins. We know these are trying times and we are here to support you and your students.   • ASVAB test for Juniors

    Good afternoon Parents/Guardians of the Class of 2022!

    Your student will be taking the ASVAB test on October 21st, Wednesday, of next week. The purpose of this exam is to continue to prepare students for post secondary success, as well as provide them with career interest insight. 

    All juniors will take this exam on the 21st. We encourage those juniors attending the virtual academy to also come in and take the test. After receiving results, the ASVAB interpreters will be coming to speak with the 11th graders about their results. The ASVAB can also provide insight on different subject areas and on how students may do on the ACT in the spring. These test results are only shared with the students and the school, the results are not shared with recruiters.

  • PreACT test for Sophomores

    Good afternoon Parents/Guardians of the Class of 2023!

  • Class Ring Order

    Hello Sophomore families. 

    Every year Jostens provides students with an opportunity to order a class ring if they so choose. This year they are doing the process virtually. Please visit their WEBSITE to view what options they have for class rings. Now through November 1st they are running some promotional offers. If you have questions regarding ring orders please contact Jostens at gradsmn@jostens.com, they are happy to assist you.

  • Cap & Gown unit and announcement order

    Hello Senior Families. 

    It is time to order your Cap & Gown Unit from Jostens. Please fill out the  ORDER FORM by November 1st. The cost of the Cap & Gown Unit will be $10, Jostens will send you a bill once your order is submitted. Please note the only thing you need to order is the Cap & Gown Unit (the tassel is provided), the items after your height and weight are optional. If you don't want any of the items you will need to change it to no for those items. 

    Jostens also has other graduation and senior items exclusive to Jordan High School. Please visit their   WEBSITE to view their products.

  • College Knowledge Month/ FAFSA Information

    Hard to believe it is already October. We have been working with your seniors on how the year is going so far and what their future plans are. We wanted to make parents aware of a few things that are going on.. Please review the following information:

    October is College Knowledge Month

    • Many Minnesota schools waive their application fee either all month or the week of October 5 - October 31. Please use this link to see which schools waive the fee as this would be a perfect time to get an application in.

    • On Wednesday, October 28th at 7:00pm, we will be having a FAFSA/financial aid presentation via zoom. Here is the link to the meeting

      • The application opens on October 1st. We encourage all families to apply for FAFSA and put all schools that your student is interested in attending. The application is available online at

  • PSAT sign up for Juniors

    Good morning Class of 2022 students, parents, and guardians!

    The PSAT test is coming up and being offered here at JHS during the morning of October 14th. If your student would like to take the PSAT please fill out this form  PSAT sign up. Seats are limited and will be offered on a first come, first serve basis. There is no charge for the test this year.  This is an optional test that we offer and is not required for college admissions. Please see some of the benefits below. 

     What are the benefits of taking the PSAT? 

    • Connects students to different scholarship opportunities 
    • Helps build study skills
    • Prepares students for other standardized tests and college exams
    • If a student's score meets certain criteria, they can possibly be selected as a National Merit Scholar or a commended scholar by the College Board

  • Minnesota’s Virtual College Exploration

    You and your students are invited to participate in an exciting new postsecondary planning opportunity:  Minnesota’s Virtual College Exploration.  Hear from Admission professionals on topics such as paying for college, application essays, college athletic recruitment and more. Learn more about 150 different colleges from all over the country in live information sessions! 

    The Virtual College Exploration takes place from  September 28th to October 14th. FREE for students and families. Registration is open now at www.mn-acac.org.  A schedule of all panel discussions and individual college sessions is available on this website as well.  Attached you will find FAQs and Panel Session Previews about the event.

    Students should register for each session they want to attend.  Once they register, they'll receive a confirmation email with their unique link to join the Zoom webinar. When students register, they are sharing their registration information only with the colleges presenting on that particular panel.  StriveScan, the company running these sessions, does not sell or share personally identifiable student information with any other third parties. Parents can register using their student's information.

    **SENIORS** - There is also an opportunity for you to participate in Super College Saturday on October 3rd.  More information on this event, as well as registration, can be found at  www.mn-acac.org/SCS.
