Student Athletic Association (S.A.A)

The Student Athletic Association (S.A.A.) is a student body comprised of any student, grades 9-12 that is interested in contributing and being a part of athletics at Jordan High School, whether it is participating in the games, working in the concessions stand, helping to promote special events and sportsmanship, or coming to the games and positively supporting your friends, team and school.

The club began in 1986 under the tutelage of Mrs. Peluso-Aryes and comprised of student-athletes who have lettered in any of the following: football, volleyball, girl’s tennis, boy’s basketball, girl’s basketball, wrestling, cheerleading, baseball, fastpitch-softball, or track and field. Today any student, whether they make the teams or not, they are invited and welcome to help and become a member of the Student Athletic Association.

The club runs the pop machines and concession stands at all the Hubmen, Jaguar, and Panther home games/meets. All the profits are put back into the schools fitness and athletic departments. Over the past 16 years, the S.A.A. has put back over $55,000 into the school.

The Student Athletic Association has supplied or help supply scoreboards in the gymnasium, and at the football stadium, sound system in the gymnasium, repainting of gymnasium floor, basketball backboards, outdoor sound system, many Homecoming events, fan buses, athletic screening at St. Francis Medical Clinic, conference and school banners, outdoor record signs, protective/decorative stage and wall mats, airplane tosses, sports library, ice machine, has donated to many summer and community education programs, coaches association dues, All state and All star recognition for students, weight room equipment, cardiovascular equipment, video equipment, team video tapes, parent nights, senior nights, Athletic Banquet, All Conference plaques, brought Timberwolves mascot Crunch to home games, Best Seats in the house sponsor, strength training / conditioning trainer, and has donated to many community fund raisers.

Along with many candy items, popcorn, pop, pizza, juice, and water for sale this year at the concession stands - the Students Athletic Association has Jordan maroon and gold attire. T-shirts, shorts, polo shirts, head bands, and sweatshirts will be available during all home games/events. Support your athletics with maroon and gold attire.
