• Welcome to Jordan High School!  I am so excited to be starting my second year as the principal at JHS.

Jordan schools are unique, we offer so many opportunities for students to connect both in the classroom and in the community. There is a culture of caring for students that is special at JHS. Our staff approach each day with energy and enthusiasm to make learning exciting. The community of Jordan rallies around the schools and is a key player in all we do to support our students.

Our staff and students continue to push for new and innovative ways to grow as learners. The introduction of our Interdisciplinary courses and the Summit Experiential learning program are two new ways we are preparing students for the 21st century. We continue to enhance the educational experience through our course offerings, advisory program, and the flexible spaces we are creating at the high school.

Our students are heavily involved in activities outside of the school day. Students are participating in the arts, athletics, and activities at a highly competitive level, in our conference, section, and state wide. I believe that our students will gain the best high school experience by being involved during the school day and after school in activities.

I thoroughly enjoy building relationships with our students, parents, and community members. A great way to keep up on the happenings of Jordan High School are through our Twitter feed @jhsprincipal1. Please follow for more information on the great things that are happening at JHS!

    Infinite Campus and Student Grades:
    • This year Jordan High School will be grading on a semester basis to be consistent with Jordan Middle School.

    • Student grades are now live in Infinite Campus.

      • When  reviewing your child's grades you will see the quarter grades boxes correctly blank.

      • You child’s up to date grade is shown in semester grade.

      • At this point we are unable to remove the quarter grade box.  Therefore, when checking your child’s grades, always refer to the semester grade for the current grade.

    • Mid-Term Report

      • Students and families will be notified to check current semester grades at Mid-Term time.  Mid-Term reports will not be sent home.  If you are unable to access Infinite Campus please contact the Jordan High School Office.

    • Honor Roll

      • Honor Roll students will be recognized at the end of each semester.

  • A new year and new opportunities

Posted by Jeff Vizenor on 9/14/2017 3:00:00 PM

The start of the school year is a mix of multiple emotions.  Students are excited to see their friends, nervous about the work load, and curious about who is in their lunch.  Teachers are excited to try new strategies, nervous about the work load, and curious about the class mix.  Parents are excited to get the kids out of the house and back on a schedule, but wonder where their baby has gone.  As a principal, I am just excited to get the year going!  We have great staff and students at Jordan High School.

I am excited to see how our new classes develop and grow this school year. I have already witnessed our Problem Solving class develop a mini golf course in the hallways with books, paper, tape, and other random materials.  I also was able to experience the energy in the room from our Introduction to Education students as they learn about an awesome career choice.

Overall, I am grateful for the community that we have in Jordan.  We are fortunate to have supportive families and excellent students for our great JHS staff to work with.
