Program Information
-
Students that may not qualify for certain programs, yet still need help, may qualify for the JHS SURGE Program. SURGE stands for “Striving Upward for Goals in/and Education” and is an alternative learning program that provides the ability for students to remain in a traditional high school setting but need smaller class sizes with fewer distractions. The program has between 12-15 students enrolled at any one time and focuses on improving attendance, building self-esteem, and building relationships.
Every student has the right to a free and appropriate education, we have confidence that our students will become more motivated by their successes and begin to acquire a sense of ownership and responsibility for the role they play in their future.
