I became an educator for the opportunity to make a positive impact on the world around me and share my love for life-long learning with students. I believe science engages students in important discussions, allows them to investigate concepts that interest them, and opens doors for students to collaborate with their peers daily. I love being a science educator because of the learning I see my students do each and every day. My goal is for each student to feel welcome, have fun, and learn every day in our classroom.

My journey into education has been rather non-traditional. Initially planning on a career in medicine, I served two years as a health educator in Benin, West Africa, where I experienced the joy of educating others about human health and disease. This opportunity, along with many years as both a student and a teacher of the life sciences, brings me to Jordan Public Schools to share my passion with students who will be discerning college and career pathways through their science coursework.
