The process of qualifying for the ECSE program is started by a referral if a child has concerns or delays in any area of development. This referral can be made by a parent, teacher, early childhood screening team, or a physician.  A referral for a child from birth to five years old can be made by calling ECSE teachers,  Lauralie Axtell or Rachel Vollbrecht at 952-492-4285.

After the referral is made, the ECSE teacher would meet with the parents to discuss the evaluation. Once they sign to give permission for the evaluation, the ECSE team has 30 school days to complete the evaluation process and then would meet again with the parents to go over the results.
