    Grading Policies:
    Process Grade/Summative Assessments

Students will be graded weekly on their “Process” which follows three guidelines

    • It is OKAY to fail, but it is NOT okay to NOT try. (Did you attempt to do everything that was asked of you?)
    • Did you continue to work on your project even if you felt that it was finished? (Some of the projects we do in this class could take up to a
      whole year to complete.)
    •  It is important to listen to the feedback of others. Did you listen to your peers and Mr. Schepers to improve your work? This process grade gives students the opportunity to display mastery over our learning targets, but does not restrict them all to the same end result. Because of this I encourage students to take academic risks in my class to explore new ideas, new forms of expression, and to stretch their minds.
      • As long as students stick to their process they will receive full credit each week.
      • If a student wishes to increase their “Process” grade for a particular week it is up
to the student to communicate their plan with Mr. Schepers.

    Formative Assessments

    •  Students formal assessments include daily work and daily check-ins
    • Either a student has an assignment on the google classroom that they need to complete OR they have a specific skill they need to practice within a certain timeframe that Mr. Schepers will announce.
    • This includes using specific coding blocks, completing google forums, creating a storyboard/sketch, etc.

    Late Work Policy
Students that are absent from class are expected to check the google classroom to access the work for that day. All tasks are to be completed by the end of each unit. If you knowingly and/or habitually submit an empty assignment or click “Turn In” on Google Classroom, you will receive a 0 and will forfeit your opportunity to retake/redo the assessment/assignment.

    • Formative Assessments:
      • All daily assignments will be due by the end of each unit
      • If they are not submitted by that point they will be marked as “Missing”
      • Students may turn in any daily assignment for full credit within two weeks after
        each unit.
      • It is up to the student to communicate when they have submitted their missing
        work.
    • Summative Assessments:
    • Any missing points on a student's “Process” grade will be described within Infinite Campus or Google Classroom under the comments for that assignment.
    • If a student wishes to receive points back on any “Process” grade they must email/speak to Mr. Schepers directly.
      • Together we will develop a plan to get those points back.

    Assessment “Redo” Policy

    • Students can earn full credit on any assignment/project when they show mastery
      of the learning targets.
    • Students are responsible for communicating with Mr. Schepers when they wish to
      resubmit work.

    Additional Course Information:
