What is "WIN" Time? What is REACH?

  • WIN TIME
WIN time is a daily (25 minutes opposite lunch) opportunity for all students to receive support and/or enrichment opportunities.

    REACH
Students will be assigned to REACH and families will be notified. REACH is an elective class designed to assist students academically, socially, and/or emotionally during the school day.  REACH staff work closely with other professionals, students and families to not only assist students academically but equip students with skills for future success. The REACH program follows a set schedule each week to support students.  Below are the items followed on the schedule.

    • Weekly Check-in/Goals Group
    • Character Building Exercises
    • Academic Days

    What does REACH stand for?

    • Relationships - A safe place for students to belong, connect and be supported.
    • Education - Create positive learning opportunities through academic support and individual assignment modification
    • Accountability - A support network with staff committed to help students succeed that nurtures student accountability with parent support.
    • Character - Skill building activities that encourage positive academic and personal growth.
    • Hard Work - Students that rise to the level of expectations

Lunch

  • All students will have lunch before or after their scheduled WIN time.

Course Placement

  • The staff of Jordan Middle have spent a great deal of time reviewing data for placement into honors and/or academic support courses. Through this process, we reviewed historical MCA results, NWEA results, progress monitoring data, current course grades, teacher recommendation and a writing sample in Language Arts and compared student performance to the established district approved criteria. Students meeting the criteria outlined in the grade level Registration Manual have had these classes added to their schedule. Those courses include:

    • Academic Support courses
    • Any student enrolled in the REACH program received a letter in the mail explaining the placement process

Schedule Changes and Appeals Process

  • Placement Appeal
If you would like to appeal your student’s placement in academic support or honors courses, please find the appeal’s process on the website. Placement appeals are due no later than the first Friday of school.
