ECFE
-
Early Childhood Family Education is a program for District 717 parents and their infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. We have weekly classes and special events designed especially for families.
Who is it for?
Our program is for all moms, dads, and their children from birth up to kindergarten. Whether you are a single parent, a teen parent, a grandparent, a stay-at-home mom or dad, you are invited to come to our classes. You attend this program with your child.
Why should I come?
Being a mom or dad is one of the most important jobs you will ever have. Come and share information with other parents about raising your child(ren). Come to learn more about your child(ren) and more about you. Come to meet other parents and find a support system to help you navigate the rewarding and sometimes challenging adventure of raising a child.
ECFE Philosophy:
-
Parents and children enjoy learning together.
-
The goal of most parents is to raise happy, healthy children.
-
Parents are interested in information regarding the development of their child.
-
The development of feelings, self-worth, confidence and self-esteem are essential in parent and child relationships.
-
Children need to learn how to explore, participate and cope with the challenges of the future while enjoying the joys of childhood.
-
Children are born into the world ready to learn.
-
Children learn in comfortable, secure, loving environments.
-
Parents are their children's first and long-range teachers.

Early Childhood Screening
-
Early Childhood Screening is a quick and easy way to check in on your child’s health and development and connect them to our programming before entering Kindergarten.
The state of Minnesota requires all children to be screened before entering kindergarten. The screening is most valuable soon after your child’s third birthday. It helps a school district identify children who may benefit from district and community resources available to help in their development.
Screening is FREE and includes growth, development, and immunization check. Your child will be assessed in the following important areas: social, motor, communication, self-help and concepts.
ECSE
-
Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) provides services to children ages birth to 3 and 3 to 5 with special needs. The program is individualized to meet the needs of each child while providing opportunities to interact with other children. This intervention programming is committed to ensuring even our youngest are reaching their milestones and when extra help is needed, those children and families receive needed services and are connected to resources within and near our community. Services take place at school as well as with families in their natural setting, typically home or child care.
Jordan Preschool
-
JORDAN PRESCHOOL, a Parent Aware 4-Star Rated Program, is a caring, warm and happy place for preschoolers to learn and grow. Our preschool offers an expanded traditional curriculum in a preK-4 setting. This means learning beyond the traditional preschool room! To prepare for Kindergarten and beyond, your child will be oriented to the amenities of our elementary school - art, music, gym, media center, outdoor STEAM exploration, and a hot lunch option for full-day preschool.
Our goal is to prepare students for school success by providing a firm educational beginning, introducing concepts such as numbers, letters, writing, and colors as well as teaching social and play skills. Each class day consists of free exploration time, small group work, music, large muscle exercises, circle time, story, and calendar.
Kids Company
-
Kids' Company is a program designed to provide a safe, supervised, recreational and enriching environment before and after school for children in Preschool through 6th grade. This program is held in Jordan Elementary School for students enrolled in the district.
We offer a designated room that provides comfort and an abundance of games, toys, and crafts. We offer a gym that allows the children to improve on large motor skills playing soccer, bowling, tag, jump rope, or simply building a fort. We have access to an on-site playground where the children can climb, slide, and swing.
