John Buteyn named Activities Director for Jordan Public Schools.

Jordan Public Schools (JPS) is pleased to announce John Buteyn as the new Activities Director. 

John was born and raised in Eden Prairie, Minnesota, and comes to Jordan Public Schools with a depth of experience and knowledge in athletics and activities. John had been serving as a Social Studies Teacher and Head Baseball Coach at Eden Prairie High School since 2012 and 2014 respectively. His prior experience includes coaching with the University of St. Thomas, and Administrative Intern experience with Eden Prairie High School, Chaska Middle School East, and Bluff Creek Elementary School. Additionally, John has his K-12 Principal’s license, degrees in Teacher Education (MA), Corporate Fitness (BA) and a minor in Athletic Coaching.  

John is looking forward to contributing to the tradition and passion of the activities department and looking for ways to continuously improve it. He is excited to learn more about our community, meet our families and make connections. He hopes to leave a lasting impact on the lives of Jordan students. 

Outside of school, John lives in Waconia and enjoys spending time with his wife and two children. He’s passionate about sports and history, and you can often find him reading, going to games, or watching documentaries.

Superintendent Ranae Case Evenson noted, “We are so excited to have Mr. Buteyn join the Jordan team! His unique background and experience, as well as his clear passion for student activities, will be a great addition to Jordan Activities!”
