  •  The Importance of Being Earnest Takes 2nd at Sections, Named 1st-Alternate to State

Jordan's 2017-18 contest play, The Importance of Being Earnest (in 30 Minutes), adapted by Jason Pizzarello from Oscar Wilde's play, had a very successful competitive season, culminating with the best finish in recent JHS theatre history!

Their first taste of success was at LeSueur-Henderson on January 20, when five JHS students were named to the 20-person Minnesota River Conference All-Confernce team: Zach Schmit, Jack Hulet, Katie Hall, Rei Garlick, and Grace Ewals. Ewals was also named Best Female Actor in the MRC!

A week later, the play took second at the Subsection competition, held on their home turf of JHS. This earned them an advancement to the Section competition, along with Subsection champion Belle Plaine.

At the Sections competition, at St. Peter High School on February 3rd, the team placed 2nd once again, with Belle Plaine again taking 1st.

The play was a great competitive success, but even more than that, the students involved formed great memories, forged new friendships, and had many laughs! Bravo, cast and crew!
