5/29/15 >> JPS Seeks Summer Volunteers for Garden Help

Hello Jordan School Families and Community Members

As you may know, we are building and planting school gardens at our Elementary, Middle and High Schools this spring as a part of a SHIP Grant to promote healthy schools.

We are also asking families/community members to sign up to take care of one of our school gardens for a week this summer. Note: the JES gardens will be maintained by our summer Kids' Company program, so we are only asking for volunteers for the JMS and JHS gardens. We would ask that you visit the garden site 3 times in the week you sign up for watering and weeding the gardens. Please click on the link below to access the signup sheet.

Our middle school gardens are located in the back of the school (there are 2 sets – you will be in charge of the 4 boxes that are FARTHEST from the tennis courts), behind the garage after the tennis courts on the right hand side when you drive into the school.

We need your help!
The high school gardens are directly behind the school and will be planted Tuesday, June 2 from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm. We have 8 gardens to plant. Please consider coming and helping us get the high school gardens ready to go!

If you are interested in supporting the gardens, forming groups at each school site and promoting them for the future, please contact:

Andrea Schaak, Nutritional Services Director at: aschaak@isd717.org or (952) 492-4417 along with any other questions!

We look forward to seeing you out at our school gardens!

Andrea Schaak NSD
