|4/17/15 >> Reconstruction on Jordan Athletic Complex Begins – Walking Path to Close|
Once again, we’d like the thank Mr. Dick Ames and Ames Construction for their partnership with the Jordan Public Schools! Mr. Ames and his company have generously agreed to fund stadium renovations at the Jordan Athletic Complex located behind the high school. In addition to the necessary funds to complete these renovations, Ames Construction will provide the required contractor services to complete this project. Included in the improvements that Ames will be involved with include the following:
Construction Begins and Will Affect Walking Paths
Spring weather has cooperated and Ames Construction has graciously decided to start this project early. In the coming weekend (April 18), you will begin to notice that equipment and materials will begin to arrive on site near the athletic complex. Erosion control and barrier fencing will be present. Several areas around the current concrete walking path and immediate stadium areas will be used as staging areas for construction product and equipment. Because of this and due to safety, the existing sidewalks, track, field, and paths around and at the stadium WILL BE OFF LIMITS TO STUDENTS AND PUBLIC TRAFFIC starting Monday, April 20. This will affect the path behind River Ridge that follows along the east side of the track. Also, sports teams and other school events that traditionally use this space in the spring will have other accommodations made. We will continue to updates families as these changes take place.
Alternate Walking Paths
Please encourage your student to take another safe route to school. This map will highlight, in green, designated walkways from affected neighborhoods.
This work will be ongoing through June 2015 with a projected completion date of early July 2015. We hope you join our excitement in commencement of this project and we thank you for your patience with any resulting inconvenience during the construction.
